Oprah's Legends™ Rose

Oprah Winfrey names the Legends™ rose in honor of 25 influential African-American women (the honorees are listed below) and is featured on the cover of the May issue of O, The Oprah Magazine.

Legends™ is a full, bushy plant with enormous, glowing, rich red flowers sitting atop long cutting stems with proportionally large, reddish-green leaves. Each bud opens to become a many-petalled, ruffled bloom. A single petal will cover a child’s palm, and a single bloom can create an entire bouquet.

"Just like the Legends. Each rose is vibrant and strong; the petals are so large that you need only a couple of blooms to make a bouquet."

Legends plants will be available in the Spring of 2009 which will give gardeners plenty of time to select the right spot for planting this amazing rosebush. It needs a sunny spot in well-drained soil, and should be placed where the color, size, and number of blooms will stun the neighbors! Plants will be available at nurseries and garden centers nationwide, and from selected mailorder sources at the correct planting time.
