I need some privacy  (United States)

Hoping someone can suggest a plant i.e(vine or shrub) that would provide privacy in a limited space situation as follows: I have a 5ft white aluminum railing fence w/concrete columns at my house. I am looking for suggestions to provide privacy with low maintenance and with limited space depth wise. A fast growing vine I think would be ideal, but i'm not sure. Ficus shrubs are hard to maintain at such a low height. I don't want it to take up to much space depth wise, as I plan on planting it on the inside of my property (backyard) vs on the outside. Any suggestions would greatly be appreciated. Are there climbing vines that spread east/west width wise as well as north/south. How far apart would i plant a vine to get the privacy I am seeking?

Re: I need some privacy  (United States)

Hi JW, I don't quite understand the entire situation you are dealing with.  I wonder if you can upload a picture easily.  There are some good choices and pictures at this webpage on hedges in the Orlando area.  If you want the flowers, maybe Bougainvillea, or green Creeping Fig.  There is also a page on Vines if you can find it.
